Job Role
We are looking for a Network Server Administrator to maintain a reliable, and secure file server and communications network. The ideal candidate will be able to deploy, configure, maintain and monitor all active network equipment in order to ensure smooth network operation.
Responsibilities
Support, configure and maintain in house Windows-based servers and networks. This would include Terminal Services, Windows File and Print services, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange.
Install and integrate new server hardware and applications.
Monitor and approve necessary updates and security patches to all systems.
Ensure network security and connectivity for users, This would include an understanding of DHCP, DNS, and security permission assignments.
Set up user accounts, email accounts, permissions, and passwords.
Resolve problems reported by end-users. This would include basic hardware troubleshooting and network connectivity both through the LAN and VPN.
Research and make recommendations on server system administration.
Communicate problems and questions effectively to corporate headquarters.
Diagnose and support issues with internet email functionality.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
Proven experience in a network administrator role with three years’ experience in current windows operating systems.
Hands-on experience in networking, routing, and switching.
Knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure.
Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN’s remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution is desired.
Ability to set up and configure server hardware.
Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies.
Good communication skills with end-users and a working knowledge of English and local dialects.
An Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
A current certification with Microsoft servers, FortiGate firewalls, or Cisco devices.
